The Budimas Education Charity Fund is making a significant impact in Malaysia by providing education opportunities to less fortunate children. One of the key strategies of the foundation is to establish educational facilities, such as libraries, in rural and poor villages across the country. The foundation has built 12 libraries in Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, Melaka, Pahang and 12 more upcoming libraries around Peninsular Malaysia, with each library equipped with 4,000 books. These libraries are managed by hired librarians and have become a place where children of the village gather to study, do their homework, revise, and conduct educational activities. Currently, the program has benefited over 1,000 children.

The foundation’s efforts are particularly focused on the Orang Asli children, who often must travel long distances to get to school. The foundation works closely with JAKOA (Jabatan Kemajuan Orang Asli) to identify suitable Orang Asli Settlements to build these libraries. By cultivating an interest in education amongst the children, the foundation hopes to encourage them to pursue their academic goals and break the cycle of poverty.
