Our Story
The Budimas Charitable Foundation is a Non-Governmental and Non-Profit Organization incorporated under the Trustees Act 1952, with a mission to provide guidance and funding in support of the welfare and well-being of orphans and underprivileged children in Malaysia.
Established in 1998, Budimas has been dedicated to improving the lives of underprivileged children across the nation, giving them the opportunity to experience a childhood that is as normal and fulfilling as possible. Since its inception, the foundation has actively supported less fortunate children through financial assistance and essential services, beginning with charitable homes.
About a decade ago, Budimas adopted a more focused approach by introducing core programmes that address the basic necessities of a child with food, education, shelter, and medical care through four comprehensive initiatives:
- Budimas Home Charity Fund (BHCF)
- Budimas Education Charity Fund (BECF)
- Budimas Food Charity Fund (BFCF)
- Budimas Children Medical Care Fund (BCMCF)
Through these programmes, Budimas continues to be a steadfast advocate for the rights and needs of underprivileged children, paving the way for a brighter, more promising future for the next generation.

Objective
Provide Safe Shelter
- Establish and support shelters that offer a secure and nurturing environment for underprivileged children to grow and thrive.
Extend Financial Assistance Nationwide
- Offer sustained monetary support to certified charitable homes across Malaysia to ensure long-term care and protection for children in need.
Ensure Daily Nutrition in Public Schools
- Deliver nutritious breakfast meals to children from low-income families at selected public schools nationwide, combating child hunger and improving school attendance.
Enrich Learning Through Libraries
- Build, maintain, and supply children’s libraries in underserved communities to promote literacy, lifelong learning, and equal access to educational resources.
Support Critical Medical Needs
- Provide financial aid for essential medical treatments and surgeries for underprivileged children through the Budimas Children Medical Care Fund.
Chairman's Note
I could never stress enough how worrying the issues faced by underprivileged children in Malaysia that have reached a staggering number of over 150,000 children. It’s not an old cliché that the children are our future, but they truly are. As the Chairman of the foundation, I strongly believe on the importance of our children’s well-being. By this I mean, every child deserves the right to the basic needs mentioned earlier. Those needs for a child are what we work hard for everyday at the foundation to ensure that the less fortunate children have a chance at life.

Principal's Officer Message
My most frequently asked question was what inspired me to work with Budimas and my answer would probably be the similar reason as all of you that have contributed in your own ways to the foundation. Perhaps the foremost reason for pursuing any kind of charity work is about making a difference. It is so rare that you get to work for an organisation where you can walk in every day and know that you are actually trying to make a difference to the nation’s society and will eventually snowball to making a change to the world.
