DECEMBER 2025, SHAH ALAM – Many years ago, a young boy arrived at Budimas Orion Home together with his siblings. They came from a broken family, carrying emotional wounds far heavier than any child should bear.
At the time, he was quiet and fragile. Often unsure of himself, he struggled to find his footing in a world that had shown him little stability. Yet within the safety of a structured and nurturing environment, change slowly began to take place.
Over the years, he found routine. He found safety. And, gradually, he found hope.
Through perseverance and consistent effort, he focused on his studies, successfully completed his Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), and later earned a place under the foundation’s scholarship programme. Education became his anchor, and discipline became his strength.
His name is Vasanthan.
Guided by his passion for sports, health, and education, Vasanthan pursued a Bachelor in Education (Health and Physical Education) at Management and Science University (MSU). Despite the challenges he faced along the way, he remained committed to his goal and successfully completed his undergraduate studies. He officially received his degree scroll on 6 December 2025.
In a meaningful continuation of his journey, Vasanthan has since been accepted into the teaching profession, where he hopes to inspire young minds while promoting physical well-being, discipline, and healthy lifestyles among students.
His achievement has created a powerful ripple effect within his family.
Inspired by his journey, his younger brothers, Suria and Matavan, are now following closely in his footsteps. One is currently enrolled in undergraduate studies, while the other is pursuing pre-university education. What began as one child’s opportunity has grown into progress for an entire family.
“This is where support truly goes,” shared a representative from The Budimas Charitable Foundation. “This is how contributions change lives, not just in reports or statistics, but in real outcomes for real children.”
Vasanthan’s story stands as a reminder that when children are given stability, guidance, and access to education, they are able to rise beyond their circumstances and build futures filled with dignity, purpose, and hope.
