Kuala Tahan, Taman Negara Pahang, 17 September 2025 – This September school holiday, the children of Budimas Orion Home embarked on an unforgettable journey to Taman Negara, one of Malaysia’s most treasured natural landmarks. The trip was more than just a holiday it was an enriching adventure filled with discovery, learning, and personal growth.
For many of the children, it was their first time stepping into the heart of Malaysia’s lush rainforest. They explored the wonders of nature, gained valuable knowledge about the country’s rich biodiversity, and deepened their appreciation for the environment.
Day One Highlights
The adventure kicked off with an ice-breaking session, followed by a creative Origami hat-making activity. Soon after, the children took part in “Explorace” a team-based challenge where they had to complete five checkpoints designed to test teamwork, discipline, and problem-solving.
As evening fell, the children embarked on the Night Jungle Walk, a truly eye-opening experience that allowed them to witness the rainforest come alive under the stars encountering unique sights and sounds that left lasting impressions.
Day Two Highlights
The excitement continued with a thrilling rapid shooting experience on the Tembeling River. Riding longboats across seven strong rapids, the children laughed and cheered as water splashed into the boats, soaking them as they navigated through the currents.
The journey then brought them to the Orang Asli Tabung Village, home to the Batek tribe. Here, the children were taught how to start a fire using natural materials and witnessed first-hand how the Orang Asli hunt with a traditional blowpipe. These cultural encounters provided the children with a deeper respect for Malaysia’s indigenous heritage and survival skills.
A Mission Beyond the Classroom
At The Budimas Charitable foundation, we believe every child deserves opportunities beyond classroom walls. Outdoor experiences like this not only broaden horizons but also instil confidence, curiosity, and resilience. By introducing children to new environments, we nurture their ability to dream bigger, learn deeper, and cherish the cultural and natural treasures of our nation.
This program was organized and coordinated by Asia Camp Taman Negara, ensuring the children experienced a safe, engaging, and well-guided adventure.
Through such initiatives, The Budimas Charitable Foundation continues to uphold its mission to nurture, support, and inspire underprivileged children, equipping them with the tools, knowledge, and experiences to build brighter futures.
