Kuala Lumpur, 27th May 2022 – The Budimas Charitable Foundation hosted a Hari Raya Aidilfitri Open House at Ramada Hotel KLCC. Over 88 guests, including the children and their caretakers from Rumah Titian Kaseh and Budimas’ own children’s home, Pusat Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Budimas Orion participated in the event.
The event began with a speech by Ms. Anne Rajasaikaran, Chief Executive Officer of The Budimas Charitable Foundation. It was then followed by the opening ceremony ‘Nyalakan Pelita’, by the Trustees of The Budimas Charitable Foundation. A Raya card competition was then held for the children. Four children from each home participated and made beautiful Hari Raya cards. For dinner, all the guests were served a sumptuous spread of traditional Hari Raya favorites; rendang, nasi impit, kuah kacang, kuah lodeh as well as cookies and kuih-muih.
“As we strive to achieve our mission to provide equal opportunities to the less fortunate children, we also ensure that these children get to experience festivities like the rest of us. This year, we are excited to host the Hari Raya celebration after two years of the pandemic in Ramada Hotel KLCC,” said Anne Rajasaikaran.
The Hari Raya spirit was magnified when each child received their ‘duit raya’ from the Board of Trustee of The Budimas Charitable Foundation as well as goodies bags filled with treats from our generous donors.
The Budimas Charitable Foundation currently supports 42 charitable homes across peninsular Malaysia; under the Budimas Home Charity Fund (BHCF), builds libraries for the children in Orang Asli Communities and currently operates 9 of those libraries via the Budimas Education Charity Fund (BECF) as well as provides breakfast to the less fortunate children in 170 schools across Malaysia through Budimas Food Charity Fund (BFCF).
