The Budimas Charitable Foundation organized a dual celebration, combining the spirit of World Children’s Day and the festivity of Deepavali for more than 250 underprivileged children. This event unfolded as a day of joy, immersion in cultural celebrations, and a testament to the foundation’s unwavering commitment to the well-being of children from diverse backgrounds.
Esteemed dignitaries, including YM Tunku Dato’ Yaacob Khyra, Chairman of The Budimas Charitable Foundation, and members of the Board of Trustees, including YBhg Datin Seri Maneesah, YM Tengku Muinuddin Putra, Mr. Steve Teoh, Mr. Yudistra Darma Dorai & Mr. Yong Yoke Keong, graced the event. The Principal Officer of The Budimas Charitable Foundation, Ms Anne Rajasaikaran also added to the distinguished line-up, promising an evening infused with values, unity, and celebrations.
The event saw participation from partners and corporate entities such as Yayasan Institut Jantung Negara (IJN), Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Farm Fresh Sdn Bhd, and Havan Clothing. Special guests and children from various homes and villages, including Pusat Jagaan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Budimas Orion, Rumah Kebajikan Orang Kurang Upaya dan anak Yatim Rita, Persatuan Kebajikan Sri Bala Illam, Yayasan Hiichiikok, Pusat Jagaan Titian Kaseh, Rumah Hope, and Kampung Orang Asli Bukit Kepong, also joined the celebration.
The evening commenced with a warm welcome speech by Ms. Anne Rajasaikaran, emphasizing the significance of the celebrations. Following the speech, a heart-warming officiating ceremony illuminated the venue as the Board of Trustees lit candles (Kuttu Vilakhu).
The night unfolded with a delightful array of delicacies for the children, accompanied by captivating performances showcasing the incredible talents of these children. The Budimas trademark activity, featuring competitions, added to the excitement. For this special occasion, two competitions—Kolam Colouring and Children’s Day Card Decorating—were held, showcasing the artistic flair of the children.
The night also included a special occasion, a cheque presentation to Yayasan IJN and Gleanegles Hosptal Kuala Lumpur, to kick off the Budimas Children Medical Care Fund programme in 2024. This gesture signifies the foundation’s vision to enhance the lives of children. The cheque was presented by the Chairman, YM Tunku Dato’ Yaacob Khyra, along with other Board of Trustees and the Principal Officer, Ms. Anne Rajasaikaran. The night followed with a gesture of care, all children received festive goodie bags and Deepavali packets presented by all of the dignitaries.
“I must say that the responsibility given to us, by the public that donates and pledges with Budimas, is a serious one so it is without a doubt, that we will do our utmost best, to provide the same quality of life that any other children would have” Ms. Anne Rajasaikaran mentioned in her speech emphasized public’s vital role in effecting positive change for children in Malaysia.
The Budimas Charitable Foundation remains steadfast in its commitment to the core principles embodied in its three core programs—Budimas Home Charity Fund (BHCF), Budimas Food Charity Fund (BFCF), and Budimas Education Charity Fund (BECF). The forthcoming initiatives, Budimas Children Medical Care Fund and Budimas Performing Arts Fund, further highlight the foundation’s dedication to shaping a healthy and holistic future for the children of Malaysia.
