Kuala Lumpur – The annual charity gala dinner held on 25 May at W Hotel was a resounding success of 25 years, raising over RM400,000 dedicated to giving the underprivileged children and Orang Asli community, a future of love and hope. Their mission this year is to work towards the expansion of Budimas Home Charity Fund, Budimas Food Charity Fund, Budimas Education Charity Fund, and two more upcoming initiatives.
The event brought together prominent business leaders, and philanthropists to support this important cause and enjoy a memorable evening of gourmet food, live entertainment, and fundraising.
The organization was thrilled to celebrate this milestone and honour those who have supported their mission throughout the years. This special event was a night of reflection, gratitude, and excitement for all that the Budimas Charitable Foundation has accomplished together.
The gala dinner began with a lively reception, followed by a delicious sit-down dinner. Attendees were entertained throughout the night by Heard of You. The highlight of the event was the Silat Flashmob and Dikir Barat performances by Orion Home Children and Orang Asli Community Performance. Each performance portrayed a subtle yet epic meaningful story.
The silent auction was another highlight of the evening, with a range of items up for bid, including paintings, rare collectible items, and exclusive getaways. All proceeds from the auction and the event itself will go directly to support all their cause.
“As we reflect on the past 25 years, we can proudly say that we have had an enormous impact. With your help, we’ve been able to provide much-needed aid and assistance to countless individuals and communities across this nation. However, there is still a great deal of work to be done.,” said Anne Rajasaikaran, Principal Officer, The Budimas Charitable Foundation.
The Budimas Charitable Foundation has achieved remarkable success in its mission to uplift the lives of over 5,000 underprivileged children hailing from more than 100 homes. These homes receive valuable assistance to alleviate the financial constraints they face in meeting their basic needs. As part of its commitment to fostering a nurturing environment, the foundation operates its very own home, the Pusat Jagaan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Budimas Orion (Budimas Orion Home), situated in Senawang, Negeri Sembilan. Nestled within its walls, this exceptional home offers sanctuary to 150 children, providing them with not only shelter but also a sense of security and solace. Equipped with essential amenities, the Budimas Orion Home ensures that each child experiences optimal comfort and protection, allowing them to thrive amidst the challenges they face.
They have also made an exceptional breakthrough with the Orang Asli Community who have been provided with 10 libraries which have benefitted them greatly. These libraries are in Pahang (1), Selangor (6), and Negeri Sembilan (3), which become a beacon of light to the lovely children there. With such investment, they have witnessed the children gather at the library to educate themselves for a brighter future.
Additionally, their feeding program has successfully fed more than 10,000 children all over Peninsular Malaysia. The attainment of statistics shows that students from poverty-stricken family, have engaged actively in class and have academically improved by an approximate percentage of 80%.
The Budimas Charitable Foundation’s aim for 2023, is to reach out to as many underprivileged children and the Orang Asli community as they can. Every child deserves equal opportunities in life, and we need to do as much as we can to ensure these children’s future is filled with love and hope. This year, Budimas will be building 2 more libraries in Orang Asli settlements in Melaka and reaching out to an additional 6,000 underprivileged children to provide them with nutritious breakfast in public schools across Peninsular Malaysia.
Another target of Budimas is also to provide financial assistance and guidance to charitable homes in our country. “As we progress through 2023, our objective is to increase financial support for an extra 50 homes and orphanages, as well as secure permission to establish seven new homes within the next decade.”, said YM Tunku Yaakob Kyra, Chairman of The Budimas Charitable Foundation.
Furthermore, The Budimas Charitable Foundation’s Performing Arts Special Campaign and Budimas Children Medical Care Fund Foundation Programme are commendable upcoming initiatives. The Budimas Charitable Foundation’s Performing Arts Special Campaign aims to help underprivileged children thrive by providing grants and financial assistance for underprivileged children who fare in performing arts. This includes child well-being, and preserving traditional cultures. Budimas Children Medical Care Fund Foundation Programme’s objective of providing financial support to underprivileged children in Malaysia who are receiving treatment for rare diseases and heart problems is a noble cause.
We know that better healthcare can make a difference in the lives of these children and their families. We hope that more people will hear about this campaign and contribute towards achieving its goal of giving these children a future of love and hope, said Anne Rajasaikaran, Principal Officer, The Budimas Charitable Foundation.
Indeed, every individual has the power to make a difference and break the chain of poverty. The Budimas Charitable Foundation’s initiatives are a testament to the power of collective action towards creating a better future for children in need. By supporting the Foundation’s initiatives, we can contribute towards giving these children hope and a bright future. Let’s work together to empower this generation and create a brighter tomorrow for all.
